We have some exciting news !
Over the course of the last year, we have been cooking up a fantastic community project for our lovely Clubhouse, and it’s time we tell you a bit about it.
Thanks to the relentless work of our former Chairwoman, Chezzie Bergman, and our treasurer, Joke Ruijgrok, we have received funding from the Cultuur Schakel fund and Fonds 1818 to realise a beautiful Mural on one of the outside walls of our clubhouse !! We are so grateful to Chezzie and Joke, who have logged countless hours of municipality meetings on our behalf, and we so proud to finally see this happen.
We have teamed up with local artist Niels Weerheim, whose art you may have seen on the various electrical boxes in and around Loosduinen, for the design of the Mural.
We truly believe that The Hungry Mind belongs to our entire community and everyone is invited to take part in the concept creation and actualisation of the final Mural.
Important dates
On 18th May we will be hosting a Concept Creation Workshop with our artist, Niels, where we will get creative and come up with lots of ideas for the wall. Niels will then gather all of the workshop ideas and come up with the final design for our wall. The workshop is open to our entire community; our Volunteers, our Teachers, Students and Parents from ISH, as well as our local Loosduinen community. Due to the size of our Clubhouse, spaces are unfortunately limited, so make sure to head over to our events page to sign up and secure your space !
The painting of the Mural will happen during the entire month of June, and here’s the most exciting part : anyone and everyone who wants to join, is invited to help out with the actual painting. The dates for painting is weather dependant so make sure to follow us on our instagram and Facebook where we will be posting all of the information and updates about painting days.
